Welcome to LESA Welcome to the Law Enforcement Support Agency’s Official Web Site. We are Pierce County’s primary E-9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) serving over three-quarters-of-a-million citizens and 14 police agencies.

Services

The Law Enforcement Support Agency (LESA) provides critical 9-1-1 communications, records and information technology services to 14 law enforcement agencies serving a critical geographic area and a diverse population of approximately 790,500 in urban, suburban and rural areas.

If you call 9-1-1, LESA takes your call and dispatches the appropriate officer response. If you renew a Concealed Pistol License (CPL) or need copies of an incident report, LESA handles your request. If you file an online police report, LESA made that possible. These are just a few of the many services LESA provides…

9-1-1 Communications, Records Management and Information Technology constitute the three LESA divisions that provide support services for law enforcement in Pierce County. With state-of-the-art dispatching and a vertically-integrated information system, LESA is a leader in the field of law enforcement support technology.

Services

In addition to serving the citizens of Pierce County, Wash., the Law Enforcement Support Agency (LESA) supports the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department and the police departments for Tacoma, Lakewood, University Place, Edgewood, Bonney Lake, DuPont, Fircrest, Gig Harbor, Puyallup, Roy, Ruston, Steilacoom and Sumner.

Several towns and cities in Pierce County contract with LESA to provide a range of services – from 9-1-1 and police dispatch, to records management and information technology.

New Discovery Channel Television Show To Profile LESA 9-1-1 Call, Communications Officer

The Law Enforcement Support Agency welcomed a Discovery Channel film crew last week when they filmed on-site at the LESA Communications Center for their new television series, Call 9-1-1. The show will profile a 9-1-1 call from earlier this year, in which LESA Communications Officer Doug Turner ensured everything went right when a 10-year-old girl called for help during a domestic violence situation involving her mother.

LESA Appeals To Lateral-Entry Dispatchers With $5K Signing Bonus

The Law Enforcement Support Agency (LESA) unveiled a new hiring incentive to stimulate recruitment for lateral-entry dispatchers – those found to be most successful in completing LESA’s rigorous dispatch training program. The enticing hiring incentive includes $5,000 for the new dispatcher, and $5,000 for the LESA employee responsible for recruiting the new dispatcher. Also included in the incentive is a relocation allowance for lateral applicants moving over 100 miles from Pierce County.
